Dialogue on Excellence and Innovation at Al-Kawthar University
Al-Kawthar University had the distinguished honour of welcoming the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, during his special visit to the University on 16 June 2026. The esteemed guest was warmly received by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Engr. Athar Mahboob, Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, along with the University's leadership, faculty, and students.
During his visit, the HEC Chairman toured various academic, research, and administrative departments and appreciated Al-Kawthar University's dedication to excellence in education, research, innovation, and the holistic development of students. He was briefed on the University's academic achievements, ongoing research activities, strategic future initiatives, and expanding national and international collaborations.
In his interaction with faculty and students, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar highlighted the significance of fostering a strong culture of research, innovation, and academic leadership to align with global standards of higher education. He commended the collective efforts of the University’s administration, faculty, and students and reiterated HEC’s continued support for the institution’s academic journey.
The visit also featured an engaging question-and-answer session, providing students and faculty members with a valuable platform to discuss contemporary challenges and opportunities in higher education, including research advancement, employability, academic quality, and the future direction of universities in Pakistan.
The visit concluded with the presentation of a commemorative shield as a token of gratitude and respect. The HEC Chairman conveyed his best wishes for Al-Kawthar University’s continued progress and success in shaping future generations through quality education and impactful research.
