Dr. Athar Mahboob is a visionary academic leader and an expert in electrical engineering, information technology and cybersecurity, with over 30 years of experience in education, research, and consulting. He has served as the Vice Chancellor of two prominent public-sector universities in Pakistan, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering & Information Technology, where he led strategic expansion, academic innovation, and student enrollment growth.
He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Sciences & Technology, Pakistan, and BS and MS degrees from Florida State University, USA. He has consulted for various reputable organizations in the public and private sectors, and founded Ibn Khaldun Systems, a leading engineering and technology solutions provider. He has also mentored and trained thousands of student engineers and colleagues, and received the prestigious civil award of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz from the President of Pakistan in 2012 for his outstanding contributions to science, engineering, and technology.
