Dr. Afaq Ali Khan is a distinguished economist and academic strategist currently serving as a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Al-Kawthar University, Karachi. With over 30 years of diversified experience in teaching, research, and high-level academic administration, Dr. Khan brings a wealth of expertise to the university’s Management Sciences program. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Karachi, with a specialized research focus on Human Capital and Economic Growth, alongside an MS in Economics and Finance and foundational degrees from the International Islamic University, Islamabad.
Throughout his career, Dr. Khan has held significant leadership positions, including serving as the Head of Department (HoD) for Management Sciences and the Director of Student Affairs (DSA) at Al-Kawthar University. In these roles, he was instrumental in shaping the university’s academic curriculum and overseeing student welfare initiatives. His professional journey also includes a long-standing tenure at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU), where he served as an Assistant Professor and previously as the Chairman of the Department of Economics.
Beyond academia, Dr. Khan is a prominent figure in industrial policy and social development. He currently serves as the Deputy Convener of the FPCCI Central Standing Committee on CSR and has a significant track record of fostering industry-academia linkages. His research—published across numerous international journals—covers critical themes such as poverty reduction, microfinance, and sustainable development. As an adjunct faculty member, he remains dedicated to mentoring the next generation of leaders, providing them with a unique perspective that integrates rigorous economic theory with practical industrial and ethical insights.
