The Board of Governors serves as the executive body of the University, entrusted with the governance and management of its affairs in accordance with the Uni versity Act and Statutes. It holds the responsibility of supervising the University’s administration, funds, and property while ensuring proper financial governance by managing budgets, accounts, and investments with advice from the Finance and Planning Committee. The Board oversees the acquisition, transfer, and upkeep of assets, develops essential infrastructure, and ensures the provision of facilities such as libraries, buildings, and accommodations.

It plays a pivotal role in academic oversight by establishing teaching and research positions, affiliating institutions, and recommend conferring of honor ary degrees. Additionally, the Board is responsible for appointing staff, prescrib ing their duties, and handling disciplinary matters. It proposes statutes, reviews regulations and, delegates powers to committees or individuals, and performs other functions as mandated by the Act, making it integral to the University’s growth, academic excellence, and administrative efficiency.
