Migration

Migration is allowed only from HEC-recognized institutions/universities, subject to the approval of Al-Kawthar University. Migration is not permitted in one-year programs. Students applying for migration must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their previous institution/university.

Credit Transfer

Credit transfer for courses studied at other institutions shall be considered on the basis of course content, credit hours, and eligibility criteria. The Equivalence Committee reviews each case and forwards its recommendation to the Dean of the Faculty.

Credit transfer is subject to the following conditions:

• A maximum of 50% of the total credits of the relevant program may be transferred.
• Only courses with a minimum grade of ‘C’ (for undergraduate programs) and ‘B’ (for graduate programs) are eligible for transfer.
• Transferred courses shall not be included in the calculation of the student’s GPA at Al-Kawthar University.
• Students with transferred credits shall not be eligible for the award of medals, except where permitted under university rules.

Approvals and Regulations

The migration and credit transfer policy is implemented in accordance with the regulations of HEC, PEC, and other relevant accreditation bodies. Migration cases require the approval of the Vice Chancellor, while credit transfer cases require the approval of the Dean of the Faculty. In both cases, approval is notified by the Registrar’s Office.
