Al-Kawthar University is pleased to welcome Dr. Shahid Raza Mir as Director, Student Services.
Dr. Shahid Raza Mir is a distinguished academician, researcher, trainer, and consultant with more than 40 years of corporate and higher education experience. A Fulbright Scholar, he holds qualifications including a PhD (Phil), MBA (Phil), B.E. (NED University), Postgraduate Diploma (LUMS), and is a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (MRAeS), UK.
Before joining Al-Kawthar University, Dr. Mir served the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, for over 25 years (2001–2025), where he held several key leadership positions, including Chairman, Department of Management, Director, Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), IBA Students Counsellor, In-charge, Testing Services (Admissions), and Chairman, Procurement Committee. He also served as a member of the Academic Board, Academic Committee, and Executive Committee, and established the Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) at IBA in 2005.
Dr. Mir has made significant contributions to higher education in Pakistan through his association with the Higher Education Commission (HEC). He has served as a member of the National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC), participating in the accreditation and reaccreditation of numerous universities across the country. He has also contributed as a member of the National Curriculum Review Committee, helping modernize Business Education curricula and supporting the introduction of the Associate Degree Program.
A certified SECP Board Director and Certified Trainer, Dr. Mir has received professional training in ISO 9001:2015, ISO/IEC 27001, Six Sigma Green Belt, Aviation Management, and Air Navigation Systems from internationally renowned institutions. Throughout his career, he has served as a mentor, evaluator, and member of Boards of Studies and Charter Inspection Committees for several leading universities in Pakistan.
As Director, Student Services, Dr. Shahid Raza Mir brings a wealth of leadership, academic excellence, and institutional development experience. His vision is to strengthen student support services, enhance student engagement, and foster an environment that enables every student to achieve academic, personal, and professional success.
