Introduction to

BS islamic Studies

The BS Islamic Studies Programme at Al-Kawthar University offers an in-depth exploration of Islamic philosophy, history, law, and culture. This undergraduate degree is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Islam and its various dimensions, fostering both academic and spiritual growth.

The BS Islamic Studies Programme at Al-Kawthar University is not merely an academic course but a transformative life experience. While the programme follows the HEC-defined outline, it is delivered with a broad, rich, and analytical approach. The curriculum has been enriched by insights from various sources, including the Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, and philosophy, expanding its intellectual scope to provide a truly enlightening education for students.

Goals

Develop HMSD, considering Islamic ethics and Institutional values as the founding principles. Focusing on the definition of health from the World Health Organization (WHO); based on the 5Ss’ model, leading to an impact on Self and Societal development; becoming a good citizen by adopting State laws, utilizing a Systems approach, and ultimately discovering meaning of Self existence through Spirituality.

Objectives

Developing “SMART” objectives for programs, adopting the specifics of WHO definition of health-physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being; with outcomes based on 5Ss’ and eight dimensions of wellness management; and timely engagement launching of programs

Strategy

Program core will be based on the WHO definition’s ingredients of health-physical, mental, social and spiritual health, & eight dimensions of wellness management:
• Physical Health: Self-care-Occupational, Financial, and Economic health. • Mental Health: Intellectual and Emotional health. • Social Health: Societal and Environmental health. • Spiritual Health: Find meaning of “Self” existence and transcendence.
Program outcomes to focus on 5Ss’-Self, Society, Systems, State and Spirituality for the impact.
